☀️ Jinko Grid-Connected Solar Power Plant with Energy Storage System

“Ekotechnik Ukraine” has implemented a grid-connected solar power plant complemented by a Jinko energy storage system. Combining solar generation with a battery storage system makes it possible to go beyond generating electricity only while the solar power plant is operating, allowing energy to be stored and used according to a predefined operating mode.

In this project, the energy storage system has a capacity of 1 MWh. For energy facilities of this type, an energy storage system (ESS) becomes an additional tool for managing electricity and enables more flexible use of the solar power plant’s generation.

⚡ Combining Solar Generation and Energy Storage

A grid-connected solar power plant generates electricity during periods of solar activity. At the same time, electricity demand may vary throughout the day, meaning that some of the generated electricity may not be consumed at the time of generation.

The ESS addresses precisely this challenge. Electricity available for storage can be directed to the battery system and then used at another time according to the configured operating algorithm.

Thus, the solar power plant and energy storage system operate as a single energy complex. The solar power plant is responsible for generation, while the ESS provides the ability to control when the stored electricity is used.

🔋 Jinko Energy Storage System with a Capacity of 1 MWh

As part of the project, a Jinko energy storage system was used. It is integrated into the facility’s energy system together with the grid-connected solar power plant.

The ESS capacity is 1 MWh. It is important to distinguish between capacity and power: MWh indicates how much electricity the system can store, while power in MW characterizes the rate at which it can be charged or discharged.

The storage system’s operating modes are determined by the configuration of the specific facility. This may include storing electricity generated by the solar power plant, subsequently supplying it when required, and managing energy flows according to the system’s needs.

📊 Practical Benefits of ESS for a Grid-Connected Solar Power Plant

Adding an energy storage system expands the capabilities of a solar power plant. Instead of using the generated electricity only at the moment it is produced, part of the available energy can be shifted to another time.

For businesses, this is important due to uneven consumption patterns. An ESS can be used to shift electricity consumption, work with peak loads, and enable more controlled operation of the energy system.

At the same time, the specific functions of the storage system depend on the project design, the facility’s electrical infrastructure, and the control system. The presence of an ESS alone does not automatically provide uninterrupted or island-mode power supply — an appropriate system configuration is required for this.

🏭 “Ekotechnik Ukraine” Project Implementation

Solutions combining solar power plants with energy storage systems are among the key areas of “Ekotechnik Ukraine’s” work. The company designs and implements solar power plants, energy storage systems, and integrated energy solutions for businesses.

Another area of the company’s expertise is the integration of ESS with industrial solar power plants, EMS, PCS, and the facility’s electrical grid. This approach makes it possible to configure the system according to the actual generation and consumption patterns of a specific facility.

Projects based on Jinko SunGiga have already been implemented by “Ekotechnik Ukraine.” The company also delivers integrated solutions in which solar generation is combined with BESS for electricity storage and energy consumption management.

🔧 Result

Combining a grid-connected solar power plant with a Jinko energy storage system with a capacity of 1 MWh makes it possible to move from simple solar generation to a more controllable energy system.

For the facility owner, this means the ability to use energy storage as an independent electricity management tool and adapt the system’s operation to the actual consumption profile.

“Ekotechnik Ukraine” provides design and implementation of solar power plants and energy storage systems for businesses.
